The company also provides complementary logistics services, including transload facility operations, distribution management, and freight brokerage; international hauling services; and supply chain services comprising freight cost analysis, planning and rationalization, and optimization, as well as project consulting services. In addition, it offers transportation brokering services, such as daily load management, overflow volume management, and bulk and non-bulk load brokering services; and operates maintenance shops and tank cleaning facilities that provide commercial maintenance and tank cleaning services. The company was founded in 1945 and is headquartered in Calgary, Canada.

Trimac Transportation Ltd. Reports Consolidated Earnings Results for the Second Quarter and Six Months Ended June 30, 2012; Declares Dividend on Class A Common Shares, Payable on October 15, 2012

Trimac Transportation Ltd. reported consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2012. For the quarter, the company’s consolidated revenue, including fuel surcharges increased by CAD 3.7 million or 4.5% as compared to the same period in the prior year. This increase was the result of incremental revenues earned from the Fortress Trucking Limited acquisition of CAD 3.3 million and the Benson Tanklines Ltd. acquisition of CAD 1.1 million. EBITDA closed the current quarter at CAD 9.7 million compared to CAD 8.0 million in the comparative quarter, an increase of 21.3%. This increase was primarily the result of the improvement in productivity and strong cost controls. Operating earnings was CAD 4.0 million compared to CAD 3.6 million a year ago. Revenue before fuel surcharges was CAD 75.8 million compared to CAD 72.6 million a year ago. Adjusted net income was CAD 2.7 million compared to CAD 2.0 million a year ago. Cash generated from operations was CAD 9.8 million compared to CAD 7.8 million a year ago. Net property, plant and equipment additions were CAD 10.0 million compared to CAD 9.3 million a year ago. For the six months, the company reported operating earnings of CAD 6.9 million compared to CAD 5.8 million a year ago. Revenue before fuel surcharges was CAD 145.9 million compared to CAD 138.5 million a year ago. EBITDA was CAD 17.4 million compared to CAD 14.3 million a year ago. Adjusted net income was CAD 4.4 million compared to CAD 2.8 million a year ago. Cash generated from operations was CAD 15.1 million compared to CAD 13.8 million a year ago. Net property, plant and equipment additions were CAD 18.9 million compared to CAD 14.6 million a year ago. The Board of Directors declared a dividend of CAD 0.07 per share on the Class A common shares, payable on October 15, 2012 to shareholders of record at the close of business on September 28, 2012.
